Collectable card feature enhances the amusement redemption experience
GARDENA, CA--September 25, 2017-- Gru's Minions have landed new starring roles. The beloved animated characters now have parts in one of Andamiro USA Corp.'s latest licensed amusement games, Despicable Me Jelly Lab.
Despicable Me Jelly Lab is a self-contained coin roll down arcade game and collectable card dispenser that is themed around one of the summer's hottest movie licenses. The Steve Carell-headlined "Despicable Me" stable includes three "Despicable" films and 2015's "Minions" spinoff, which alone generated $1.15 billion in ticket sales, the biggest earner of the bunch. Altogether, they make up the highest-grossing animated film franchise, with an astounding box-office take of $3.52 billion worldwide.
Andamiro's Despicable Me Jelly Lab made its debut at select Dave & Buster's locations in mid-July, less than a month after Universal Pictures' "Despicable Me 3" opened in theaters in June. Beginning this month, Andamiro's redemption amusement game will ship industry-wide.
"We are very excited about the release of this game and look forward to a successful run," said Andamiro president of sales Drew Maniscalco. "The collectable card feature will keep players coming back or playing longer as they attempt to win the full set."
In gameplay, players time the drop of their tokens by pressing a button to try to land on targets -- ticket values or "Win Card" -- that continually loop on a conveyor belt system. The game merchandises eight slick Minion cards, one of which is a special "foil" edition of Stuart. A "super bonus" is awarded when a player collects the seven standard cards.
Despicable Me Jelly Lab features a beautifully styled cabinet with custom art portraying the Minions in their Jelly Lab, Minion sound effects, plasma-like lighting, two player stations, four conveyor belts and two ticket dispensers. The game cabinet measures 47.2" W. x 43" D. x 117.7" H.

So it was very gratifying when Universal signed off on the release of Despicable Me Jelly Lab.
